【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthefabricationofwoodboxes.Thesewoodboxes,whenconstructed,filledandclosed,shallbeusedforthepackingofcontentsnotexceeding1,000pounds[454kg].1.2Iftheuseofotherconstructionmethodsortechniquesisacceptableandpermitted(see5.1),theresultingboxesshallbeofequalorbetterperformancethanwouldresultfromtheuseofthespecifiedmaterialsandprocedures.Anappropriatedistributioncycle,specifiedinPracticeD4169,canbeusedtodevelopcomparativeproceduresandcriteria.1.3Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.SeeIEEE/ASTMSI10forconversionofunits.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
