【摘要】:Vaporretardersprovideamethodoflimitingwatervaportransmissionupwardthroughconcreteslabsongrade,whichcanadverselyaffectmoisture-impermeableormoisture-sensitivefloorfinishes.Adverseimpactsincludeadhesionloss,warping,peeling,andunacceptableappearanceofresilientflooring;deteriorationofadhesives,rippingorseparationofseams,airbubblesorefflorescencebeneathseamed,continuousflooring;damagetoflatelectricalcablesystems,bucklingofcarpetandcarpettiles,offensiveodors,andgrowthoffungi.1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresforinstallingflexible,prefabricatedsheetmembranesincontactwithearthorgranularfillusedasvaporretardersunderconcreteslabs.1.2Conditionssubjecttofrostandeitherheaveorhydrostaticpressure,orboth,arebeyondthescopeofthispractice.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
